The Palestinian Authority's Foreign Ministry today (Sunday) condemned President Yitzhak Herzog's intention to visit the Cave of the Patriarchs in the ancestral city of Hebron to light the first candle of Hanukkah.
The announcement states that this is a "dangerous precedent, confirming the degree of participation of Israeli officials in the operation of the Israelization and Judaization of the Ibrahim Mosque, after it was divided by the occupation. An associate of Abu Mazen, the Minister of Civil Affairs of the Hussein a-Sheikh Authority, added: "The arrival of the President of the State of Israel in the city of Hebron is an initiative of the settlement and the settlers' campaigns."
He further claimed that this was a "blow to international law, and a political, moral and religious provocation".
Meanwhile, a-Sheikh updated that Abu Mazen would visit Qatar tomorrow.
