Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov reiterated that his country has no intention of attacking Ukraine or any other party and that the hysteria fueled by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is baseless.
Russia Today quoted Peskov as saying that "this hysteria, which is currently being fueled by the Anglo-Saxon and Ukrainian media, we consider absolutely unacceptable," expressing concern that this fueling could represent an attempt to hide Ukraine's preparations to resolve the Donbass issue by force.
Peskov commented on Zelensky's demand that President Vladimir Putin publicly confirm that there are no plans to attack Ukraine by saying that "the same allegations that Russia intends to march on someone and accusations in this context that it is behaving in a more or less aggressive manner are baseless and fundamentally untrue."
Russia has repeatedly stressed that it has never planned any military intervention in the Ukrainian territory, stressing at the same time its right to mobilize any military forces anywhere within its territory.
