Val-de-Marne: mail delivery on the Briard Plateau? "It's better but still perfectible" judge the users

During a public meeting in Mandres-Les-Roses this Saturday, elected officials and citizens noted progress in the postal service after two very years.

"How can you arrange for the postman to ring the doorbell?"

The question asked by Georges Martins made the audience smile, but reflects the difficulties of the inhabitants of Plateau Briard.

Like about twenty elected officials and citizens, the municipal councilor of Mandres was present this Saturday during a public meeting on the problems of mail distribution in the area.

Two years after a first interview on the subject, a two-hour discussion was held in the presence of two executives from the Post Office, to bring up the dysfunctions and take stock of the period.

“There are always problems receiving subscriptions.

Some give up and opt for the digital version.

Some days, we receive all the mail for a week, and overall, it is dropped off very late in the day, ”lists Françoise Fischer, a resident of Mandres.

Mail delivered very late in the day

“On Saturdays, we do not distribute all the flows, only the most urgent letters, details, in response, Yann Maunoury, operational director of Val-de-Marne at the Post Office.

We cannot guarantee delivery in the morning.

We are having a hard time stabilizing the workforce, but we are doing our best to keep your postman the same ”.

Another point of concern: the distribution of mail to businesses.

“A year ago, companies complained, it's better but it remains to be improved.

Traders would like to receive their mail on Saturdays, ”points out another resident, who is in regular contact with entrepreneurs.

Despite the recruitment of around fifty people on permanent contracts since the beginning of the year in the department, 38 positions remain to be filled. And, if the quality of service is not yet optimal, the support agrees to recognize an improvement in service over the past two years. "Two years ago, we went to collect the mail directly from the office, otherwise it was not delivered, so yes it has improved", supports Françoise, a resident of Villecresnes, who however regrets too late delivery.

“When we mobilize, it works.

There has been a significant improvement over the past two years, summarizes Laurent Saint-Martin (LREM), deputy for the 3rd constituency of Val-de-Marne at the origin of this public meeting, after having launched a call for testimonies on the issue. with the inhabitants two years ago.

We must now ensure that what has been announced will be carried out.
