A 69-year-old man from Warngau fell victim to fraudsters and lost five-figure cash in the process.
Warngau - The scam is bold and has long been known - but unfortunately always successful: A fake police officer called a 69-year-old man from Warngau on Friday morning, November 26th.
According to the police, the alleged criminal investigation officer told of a robbery, an ongoing undercover search and that the man's money, both at home and in his bank accounts, was no longer safe.
False police officers cheat warning people out of five-digit cash
After hours of telephone calls, the 69-year-old was finally persuaded by the highly professional perpetrators to hand over cash in the low five-digit amount to a "colleague" of the detective in front of the house.
It was not until later that afternoon that the warning man realized that he had been the victim of fraudsters.
He filed a complaint with the real police.

If you get a call from the wrong police officer, you should pay attention to the following important tips:
Do not allow yourself to be put under pressure, not even by allegedly urgent investigations, e.g. B. to a break-in or attack nearby!
The real police never ask for cash, money transfers, or anything of value from you to conduct an investigation! Just hang up!
Do not let anyone into the apartment who wants to see where you are keeping money or jewelry!
Never call back using the number displayed on the phone! Do not press redial. Hang up and then dial 110 again!
Never give money to strangers!
Always report it to your police station, even in the event of an attempt!
