The apartment is a contractor's apartment located in a new building and its interior covers an area of about 170 square meters. Its original plan was changed, and it is now divided into 5 spacious rooms. The outdoor areas of the apartment include two balconies, Which looks good from the living room and kitchen and overlooks a beautiful green landscape.

The generous area of the terrace allowed to place in it also a seating area that serves as an outdoor living room for watching TV or entertaining.

While in its other area a pampering outdoor kitchen has been set up with a large dining table that is also used for outdoor dining and entertaining.

So large that there is room for a pool, seating area, outdoor kitchen and dining table.

"The balcony with the pool is one of the most important parts of the apartment and it actually makes all the difference between a normal apartment and an apartment where the exterior and interior become one in every sense of the word, the leisure and hospitality atmosphere and the utilization of the outdoor space is inseparable," says Etty Vandermolen. , A belief in the planning and design of the apartment.

"The pool overlooking the kitchen and living room out both day and night with the lighting against the backdrop of green vegetation seen from all sides give the pleasant feeling that the tenants wanted to achieve."

Because the kitchen is open to and adjacent to the living room it actually feels like an integral part of the living room.

Therefore, Vandermolen explains, a kitchen was chosen whose finishing materials blend in with the rest of the house.

The lighting created especially for the large island in the kitchen sets the tone in every view from the living room and the balcony.

"The most functional room for me in the apartment is not necessarily the largest room but the room designed so that it can be used for several purposes," says the designer.

This refers to the playroom, where carpentry simulates colorful street buildings that are actually storage cabinets with a sofa in the center.

When needed, the room becomes a guest room - the sofa opens and can comfortably accommodate two people, and on a daily basis in its closed position, a safe is used for watching TV or reading.

"The closets are designed to store all the kids' toys and board games inside, and in another area of the closet, everything the home office needs is stored," Vandermolen explains.

"Out of these closets are tables that can be used by both the children to prepare lessons and the parents to work with a laptop while spending time with the children. And on the adjoining balcony, the children play outdoor games with their friends. For a TV room, office or guest room - everything according to need and time. "

In the parents' bedroom, Vandermolen wanted to create a calm and intimate atmosphere, so a color palette was chosen that stands out on the one hand but blends harmoniously with the rest of the room: a long row of wall-colored cabinets, a dominant back in bright color and soft curtains that complete the overall look.

In the children's rooms, too, attention was paid to creating a personal space for a boy and a girl who share a room.

By using colors and delineating the walls and ceiling, a kind of separation and definition of a personal space was created for each child with his / her shelves, his / her bed and personal belongings, with a wardrobe large enough for both.

In the baby room, a closet was chosen that is a "standing fruit" that is the size of one child and its color was adapted to the wallpaper that adorns the walls of the room.
