The docu-reality "Couples Therapy" that comes up here 11, follows couples who open up their relationship difficulties in front of the camera • The show's editor tells how to recruit couples for something so intimate, and why they actually do it

Tonight (Monday) at 22:05, 11 new docu-reality series, "Couples Therapy," based on the format of the American ShowTime network, will air here.

As part of the series, viewers follow four couples undergoing couple therapy in front of the cameras.

"This is unequivocally the most difficult casting project I have come across," says the show's editor, Adi Levy, who previously edited "Let's Eat with Me" and "Sorry for the Question."

"I was looking for couples with real difficulty, but who really want to stay together. Not the ones who come to break up."

How did you manage to recruit participants who are willing to reveal something so intimate?

"We asked them to watch the American show and it was very helpful, because they see it as something dignified and not shallow. I believe each of them had a deep reason to do it. Some thought it would be effective for them to watch their own treatment. Some thought it was a mission, because they put on The table is things that everyone is dealing with. "

How long did the treatment last, and were there any couples who continued it after the filming?

"The filming lasted almost half a year, and if a couple needed more time - they were given without cameras. Everyone was offered to continue the treatment. There were some who came to reinforcement sessions even after we finished filming."

What was the most common problem among couples?

"A lot of couples get into a relationship from the premise of 'When I met you I thought you were the solution to everything, and then it turned out you were a bit of a problem.'"

It is clear that cameras affect the treatment.

How do you deal with it?

"We did our best to keep the TV from being present. When they came for treatment they met a soundman who put a small microphone on them - and that's it. Everything was run as treatment, but I guess in their minds the thought of this thing coming out one day existed. I guess there were places they kept to themselves." .

Do cameras also have advantages?

"There's something about the camera that it requires. If you were sent to do work with yourself, and you know you're being filmed - you'll give your best. I mean, people make an effort not to go out on TV."

Were there any couples who separated at the end of the treatment?

"You'll have to watch and find out."

Were we wrong?
