The number of registered cases infected with the Corona virus in the isolation department of Al-Basel Hospital in Tartous reached 145, while the occupancy rate reached 99 percent, amid the increasing numbers and the horizontal spread of the virus in the governorate.
Director of the General Authority of Al-Basel Hospital, Dr. Iskandar Ammar Bayn, told SANA reporter that the basic isolation department in the hospital has been supplemented with an additional section on the fifth floor because injuries are still increasing, considering that the commitment to preventive precautionary measures by citizens is very weak and the demand for vaccination is still Below the expected level.
Dr. Ammar pointed out that all necessary treatment services are available for Corona patients, especially oxygen, where there is a double generator operating around the clock, in addition to a 10-ton tank and a large number of cylinders that are filled on an ongoing basis, and an engineering and service cadre supervises this to keep pace with the needs of any patient.
Dr. Ammar stressed the need to adhere to wearing a mask, spatial distancing as much as possible, and permanent sterilization of hands, pointing out that every citizen feels respiratory symptoms, whether normal or otherwise, he should visit his private doctor or hospitals and health centers to conduct the necessary medical evaluation.
Ammar stressed the importance of taking the anti-Coronavirus vaccine, which contributes to alleviating the symptoms of infection and the increasing numbers.
In a related context, Dr. Ammar pointed out that the hospital received, during the last period, a number of black fungus infections, which were treated and some of them were discharged, while others are still under treatment. As for the cases that arrived late, they died.
