Alexandretta Brigade has not disappeared from the map of Syria over the past decades and its cause is still an integral part of the Syrian conscience with the inevitability of its return. Such as the process of Turkification of the brigade and its villages, which extend over an area of 4,800 square kilometers and are inhabited by more than 1 million people, most of whom are Syrian Arabs.
The Syrians in Iskenderun were then subjected to the crackdowns of the successive Turkish regimes that lasted for decades and caused the displacement of many of them in parallel with the Turkish occupier transferring thousands of Turks and resettling them in the district with the aim of changing its Syrian Arab identity, starting with changing the names of the villages and their demographic character, which proves their Arabism and Syria at the same time. But Turkey refused to keep the brigade within the Syrian state and demanded that it be turned into an independent state. It raised the issue to the League of Nations in cooperation with France, which violated the mandate instrument that prevents the mandatory state from ceding any part of the mandated territory. The League of Nations sent international observers to the brigade and returned to Geneva with an impression. The vast majority opposes its annexation to Turkey.
The memory of the Syrians has become more active in the current stage, especially that the Turkish aggression is being repeated today through the Brotherhood’s Erdogan regime, which committed many massacres against the Syrians in the countryside of Aleppo, Hasaka and Raqqa, killing hundreds of civilians, through its blatant aggression on Syrian territory, which confirms the reality of its ambitions on this land. And his support for the terrorist organizations that shed the blood of the Syrians and made Turkey a corridor for the terrorists to cross into Syria.
The events of the past ten years show that the Erdogan regime’s ambitions were not limited to the Alexandron Brigade, but extended to all Syrian lands, as it worked in every way to revive the defunct “Ottoman Dream.” Among these methods is the military, financial and intelligence support for international cross-border terrorism that has been targeting Syria for years and what Turkey has done During the past years, and the support it is doing today by all means to the armed terrorist organizations, it is an attempt to repeat and repeat their previous experiences against our people in the Al-Saleeb Brigade through the attacks of the Erdogan regime that supports terrorism and its countless crimes against the Syrians.
But the Syrians, who fought the invaders and occupiers with their different names and nationalities hundreds of years ago, still have enough determination and will to confront Erdogan and his Brotherhood gang, and they have the determination to restore all the occupied Syrian lands, including the Iskenderun Brigade and the occupied Syrian Golan.
