The chairman of the State Physicians' Association, Dr. Zeev Feldman, this morning (Monday) sharply attacked the unvaccinated and expressed support for the government's measures regarding entry and exit from Israel due to the fear of the Omicron variant.

"Politeness is important, life is more important. It is time to say out loud: the three million unvaccinated in Israel endanger us all," said Dr. Feldman, director of the Sheba Pediatric Neurosurgery Unit and acting chairman of the Israel Medical Association.

Dr. Feldman continued: "We are endangering the hospital system - there are not enough intensive care beds to treat an unvaccinated wave and treat 'normal' patients' optimally as well - we will not be able to treat another wave and give proper and timely treatment to cancer patients, patients with heart attacks, patients In chronic diseases.

"Instead of allocating resources to improve the long-term health system, we vaccinators will be forced to spend billions of shekels to treat them. Get up and get vaccinated, first for yourself, your parents, grandparents, and then for all of us. Get vaccinated and win the corona."

Feldman commented on the government's decisions: "Tourism is important - life is more important. The closure of Ben Gurion Airport, in accordance with the outline led by the professionals in the Ministry of Health, is a defensive step for Israeli citizens.

We must not give in to all the voices that rise again and press for the opening of Ben Gurion Airport as soon as possible.

"It will be a difficult two weeks and maybe a month for the tourism industry until we can assess the risk from the omicron, but it will save the lives of all of us, allow most of the economy to continue to operate freely and reduce damage to human life and the economy."
