Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian reiterated that his country's participation in the Vienna talks with the 4+1 group came with a serious will to reach a good and effective agreement.

During talks with Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Special Representative of the Russian President to the Middle East and Africa, Abdullahian noted the active Russian role in the ongoing talks in Vienna.

On the other hand, Abdullahian expressed his country's readiness to host a summit of heads of state sponsoring the Astana process on settling the crisis in Syria and the meeting of foreign ministers of those countries, noting the common views between Iran and Russia in this regard.

Abdullahian also welcomed the proposal of the Russian side to cooperate in combating the Corona pandemic, in addition to developing bilateral relations between the two countries.

For his part, Bogdanov praised the friendly relations between Tehran and Moscow, stressing that they are old and strong.

While Bogdanov expressed his country's desire to receive the views of Iranian officials on regional developments, he described issues in the Caucasus region as important to both countries and the region.

On the developments in Afghanistan, the Russian official described the withdrawal of US forces from it as a source of doubt and concern for the countries of the region.

Bogdanov also condemned the unilateral coercive economic sanctions imposed on Syria, pointing at the same time to the importance of economic relations with Syria and its economic assistance.
