Algeria renews its support for the struggle of the Palestinian people

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune called on the international community to assume its historical responsibilities towards the practices of the Israeli occupation and its maneuvers aimed at undermining a just settlement of the Palestinian issue.

In a speech on the occasion of the celebration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Tebboune reiterated his country’s support for the struggle of the Palestinian people to restore their usurped rights in full, and said: “The international community is called to correct the situation that the Palestinian cause has become in light of the crimes that the occupation is committing against the Palestinian people and to remedy it by abandoning it.” For adopting a policy of double standards and assuming his historical and legal responsibilities by pressuring him and forcing him to comply fully with international legitimacy in order to avoid the direct repercussions of the current situation on the establishment of peace and security at the regional and international levels.

Tebboune added that Algeria, which "remains faithful to its principles calling for keenness to redouble efforts to protect the Palestinian people from violations, expresses once again on this international day its support for sincere initiatives and serious endeavors aimed at bringing peace to the Middle East on the basis of international legitimacy."

The Algerian president expressed his hope that the humanitarian situation in the occupied territories would constitute a strong motivation and alarm for the United Nations to assume its responsibility in order to enable the Palestinian people to have their legitimate right to recover their land and establish their independent state with full sovereignty on the line of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital.
