Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ali Bagheri affirmed that his country entered the Vienna negotiations with a serious will to lift the unjust and illegal sanctions against the Iranian people.

In a statement today to Iranian TV, Bagheri said, "We hope that these talks will play an active role in achieving the goal of the Islamic Republic of Iran in lifting these sanctions," noting that the main focus and priority in this round of talks will be lifting sanctions.

He pointed out that Iran had held various useful discussions with Russia and China to prepare for the start of the Iran and Four Plus One talks in the new round of talks that will be held today in Vienna.

For his part, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said, "We are now on the cusp of new nuclear negotiations, and we hope they will be fruitful, and we want practical guarantees from America regarding its commitments within the framework of the nuclear agreement."

Khatibzadeh stressed in his weekly press conference today that America should completely cancel the embargo and provide guarantees in this field, pointing out that the duration of negotiations is unknown and Iran does not want it to reach a dead end.
