Munich - The fourth corona wave continues to roll over Bavaria.

The demands of the politicians for tougher measures are therefore overturning almost every day.

The parliamentary manager of the Free Voters, Fabian Mehring, recently made a statement.

He wants to tighten the rules - especially for those who have been vaccinated.

He is particularly concerned that immunized persons can spread the virus further, but do not have to be in quarantine, for example.

Corona in Bavaria: quarantine also for vaccinated and convalescent - expansion of 2G plus

On Monday Mehring told the dpa that it was absurd that vaccinated contact persons of infected people were allowed to move freely. Since vaccinated people could pass on the virus unnoticed, they too would have to isolate and test themselves. This particularly applies to cases of infection in immediate relatives. “Vaccination protects very well against severe courses. Unfortunately, the Piks does not provide sterile immunity, so that people who have been vaccinated can still get infected and pass the virus on - especially if they have close contact with infected people, "said Mehring. That must finally be reflected in the quarantine.

However, if vaccinated people were quarantined, they should not experience any disadvantages.

“It is absurd that such people are currently taking vacation or have to fear wage cuts if they stay at home to be on the safe side.” The free-voter-politician is in favor of an expansion of 2G plus.

So more tests for those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered.

"Likewise, it does not do justice to the dynamics of the infection process that there is no compulsory test for them," emphasized Mehring and demanded: "That must be changed immediately in order to break the chains of infection and get the fourth wave under control again." Those who have recovered are only in quarantine if they show symptoms that are typical of the corona.

Corona in Bavaria: More and more employees in intensive care units are quitting

All of these rules and requirements serve only one purpose - to keep the health system from collapsing. But the situation remains tense. At the weekend, the incidence of hospitalization was 9 (as of November 28, LGL). This means that nine people per 100,000 inhabitants have been hospitalized in the past seven days. Unvaccinated (17.6) were significantly more likely than vaccinated (2.8). According to the DIVI register (as of November 29), a total of 1,062 people in the Free State have to receive intensive care. 567 of them are connected to a ventilator.

With such a high number of Covid intensive care patients, every doctor or nurse who gives up his job hurts. However, this is exactly what is happening in the most severely affected regions - especially in the Corona hotspots in Lower Bavaria. The

BR found

out through random surveys that, for example, in the Arberland clinics in the Regen district, more employees quit this year than usual. Normally in pre-Corona times it was around 50 employees per year, but this year it is between 70 and 80.

The work in the intensive care units is particularly stressful.

And this is where the fluctuation is highest.

In the period from April to November, more than a dozen employees in the intensive care units at the Landshut-Achdorf hospital quit.

That corresponds to more than ten percent of full-time employees, writes the

BR

.

The main reason is probably the physical and psychological stress caused by the corona pandemic.

Corona in Bavaria: A quarter of all new infections in Germany come from the Free State

On Monday, the Robert Koch Institute for Bavaria reported 7129 new infections.

This means that a quarter of the cases registered in Germany can be traced back to the Free State.

The incidence is 627.6.

It is down a few points from 640 a week ago.

29 people have died from or with a Covid 19 infection in the past 24 hours.

The Freyung-Grafenau district remains the front runner among the corona hotspots with 1,373.2.

It follows: LK Rosenheim (1357.6), Rottal-Inn (1209.4) and Traunstein (1122.3).

Only seven counties and cities are above an incidence of 1000 on Monday. On Friday there were twelve.
