Despite the many days of detention and the investigative actions carried out, the police and the prosecutor's office have not yet been able to establish an evidentiary basis that will allow an indictment to be filed, nor has a prosecutor's statement been filed before the indictment was filed.

The police representative from the court further extended the arrest of the murder suspect, the 15th in number for two days in order to carry out a number of further investigative actions in an attempt to establish an evidentiary basis that would allow the filing of a prosecutor's statement before indictment.

At the hearing, which was also attended by members of the family of the late Melnik, her sister Ruth and her grandparents accompanied by their lawyers, Kachura's defense attorney emphasized that the fact that after 60 days of detention and exceptional approvals given for extending the suspect's detention and interrogation In the case they are not sufficient for a charge of murder nor for other deadly offenses and therefore there is no room to extend his detention and he should be released.
