The G7 summit is scheduled to take place a second time in Elmau Castle in June 2022.
But those responsible are apparently having a hard time finding free beds for their emergency services, officials and delegations for the period - among other things because of the Oberammergau Passion Play and Corona.

And the US delegation alone is traveling with 1200 employees, including the numerous security guards of US President Joe Biden. Where should they all stay when the G7 summit is expected to take place again from June 26 to 28, 2022 at Schloss Elmau? Especially since the experience of 2015 has shown that a few weeks before the summit, large contingents are required.
Just weeks ago, numerous inquiries came in to the accommodation providers in the district. Much later than 2014, when Angela Merkel announced in January that the summit will take place near Krün. One and a half years lead time. It is now November 2021 - and only in December will the Federal Chancellor-designate Olaf Scholz (SPD) officially announce the meeting of the most powerful after taking office after St. Nicholas Day. So there is only a good six months left.
Many phone calls were therefore made.
Some must have sounded relatively desperate by now.
“They really thought about that,” Gudrun Rademacher complains about those in charge.
Basically, the manager of the Mittenwald Hotel Post would have been delighted to be able to offer a hostel to numerous police officers again at the 2015 summit.

But she has to cancel now. Your hotel is already well booked in May and June - mainly with guests of the Oberammergau Passion. As is well known, the game of vows starts after the corona-related cancellation last year on May 14, 2022 and overlaps with the meeting of the most powerful heads of state in the world. Because of the fully booked and quite expensive beds in the Ammertal, many Vow game visitors move to the district, including the Isar valley. “We already have a lot of regular guests.” Rademacher offered the police all the gaps in between. “Unfortunately, I was unable to provide them with accommodation for six weeks at a time. It's a shame. "
The Mittenwald Alpenhotel Rieger is also booked out elsewhere, but with classic holiday tourists.
Six years ago, a special police unit was housed there.
"Unfortunately the request came too late," says hotelier Daniel Rieger.
The 42 rooms are "100 percent fully booked" in the weeks around the summit.

The same applies to Michael Liebl.
He and Manfred Moritz run numerous holiday apartments in the Karwendel Alps.
“We were booked out quickly,” says Liebl.
In his opinion, people still prefer to vacation in Germany than abroad due to the corona.
“We continue to feel this trend enormously.” And he, too, has the problem that in the few gaps that the booking plan leaves, officials cannot stay for several weeks at a time.
"For me, the request was very timely," says Bernhard Neuner from Wallgau.
His Posthotel with 50 beds is already booked out with police officers.
“They come shortly after I say goodbye to a large tourist group in my hotel.” So, at least for him, the timing was great.
