GAP - The organizers of the 70th Four Hills Tournament have good news and bad news for all ski jumping fans. “We are currently planning to be able to hold all four events of the anniversary tour with spectators. Whether that will work and how many fans will actually be allowed to enter the stadium is unfortunately currently completely open. That depends on the current development of the corona incidence and the requirements of the authorities in the next few weeks, "says Dr. Peter Kruijer.

The 2G rule currently applies as a minimum requirement; in Germany, those who have been vaccinated or recovered must also show a negative rapid antigen test. In the towns of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Innsbruck and Bischofshofen, advance ticket sales at www.tickets.vierschanzentournee.com continue as normal, but advance ticket sales in Oberstdorf have been stopped for the time being.

“According to the currently applicable ordinance in Bavaria, we are allowed to let around 6,750 visitors into the stadium, which corresponds to a capacity utilization of 25 percent. However, we sold significantly more tickets by mid-November. Not only for the competition, but also for the qualification ”, says Florian Stern, managing director of Ski-Club Oberstdorf Veranstaltungs GmbH and general secretary at the opening competition. The organizing committee has already written to all ticket holders and will take tickets back on request. “Depending on how the situation develops, it may well be that we also have to reverse ticket purchases. We'll probably go here after the date of purchase, ”said Stern.

As for Oberstdorf, the same applies to all other tour locations: If tickets have to be returned due to the pandemic, the full purchase price (excluding postage costs) will be refunded.

In Garmisch-Partenkirchen, ticket holders can voluntarily return their tickets free of charge until December 20th.

All four venues will fight to the end to ensure that as many spectators as possible can take part in the 70th Four Hills Tournament.

“The tour grew big thanks to its fans and lives from the atmosphere in the stadiums.

We have developed an excellent hygiene concept at all four locations, in which maintaining the health of everyone involved and protecting against infection come first, ”says Michael Maurer, chairman of the Partenkirchen ski club and head of organization for the New Year's ski jumping.

The situation in Austria, which is in a nationwide lockdown until December 13, is currently completely open.

“Nobody knows at the moment what restrictions there will be afterwards.

What is certain, however, is that we are looking forward to fans afterwards.

Both at the Bergisel in Innsbruck and at the final jump of the tour in Bischofshofen ”, says Alfons Schranz, chairman of the Bergisel sports club and head of organization in Innsbruck.
