Minister of Religions Matan Kahana sharply opposes the publisher of the Haaretz newspaper, Amos Schocken, after the latter blamed Shalhevet Pes' parents for her death, because they decided to live in Hebron.

In a tweet published this morning (Monday) Schocken, he claimed that "Shalhevet Fes was killed because of the irresponsibility of her parents, who thought it was possible to raise a child in a combat environment, and of the Ministry of Welfare, which in a normal country would take children out of war."

The tweet was written in response to a post by Uri Zaki, chairman of the Meretz administration, regarding President Herzog's speech.

The one who decided not to remain silent about the exciting tweet was the Minister of Religions, who sharply attacked him: "The publisher of Haaretz is descending into new abysses.

Shalhevet Fess, a ten-month-old baby girl, was killed by a terrorist in the city of Hebron, who sniped her to death while lying in a baby carriage near the door of her home in the Avraham Avinu neighborhood of Hebron.

On March 26, 2001, a terrorist from the Abu Sneina neighborhood fired at Yitzhak Pess and his daughter Shalhevet.

The baby was hit in the head and killed, and her father was moderately injured.
