The environmental candidate Yannick Jadot was a guest of RTL this Monday morning, and, news oblige, he was questioned on the accusations of sexual assault and rape hanging over Nicolas Hulot.

Assuring that he was not aware of the facts alleged against the former Minister of Ecology, Yannick Jadot explained the reason for the withdrawal of his spokesperson, Matthieu Orphelin, a close friend of Nicolas Hulot.
"From the moment when testimonies call into question the entourage" of the former host of Ushuaia, Matthieu Orphelin "will be questioned on the subject, and he must resume his freedom of speech and carry his own word", he pleaded, ensuring that the deputy was “absolutely not responsible for the attacks”.
This Saturday, already, the campaign director of Yannick Jadot, Mounir Satouri, had estimated that the testimonies fed "full of questions on the state of reality of what the relatives knew".
"Our program wants to end sexual assault"
In 2018, when the first accusation against Nicolas Hulot was unveiled in the magazine “Ebdo”, Matthieu Orphelin notably deplored the “inquisition” against the former Minister of Ecology.
After the broadcast of the report of "Special Envoy" last Thursday, in which four new women accuse the former minister of sexual assault or rape, the deputy changed his speech and assured support the alleged victims.

"My political responsibility is to ensure that society changes in the face of Nicolas Hulot, who can be found everywhere," Yannick Jadot said on Monday at RTL.
"Our program wants to put an end to sexual assault, to impunity," added the environmental candidate.
We must "get out of this logic where guys, who think they are powerful, coerce women," he concluded.
