The family of the late Eliyahu Kay, who was killed in the shooting attack that took place on Sunday last week in the Old City of Jerusalem, is currently participating (Monday) in lighting a second Hanukkah candle at the Western Wall. Watch the live broadcast.
The lighting this evening is attended by the Rabbi of the Western Wall and the Holy Places, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, the Minister of Religious Affairs, Matan Kahana, representatives of Magen David Adom in Israel and, as mentioned, the family of the late Eliyahu Kay, the Western Wall Heritage Foundation.
As you may recall, on Monday last week, Elijah Kay was laid to rest on Mount of Beatitudes in Jerusalem.
About a thousand people came to accompany him on his final journey, including MKs and public figures.
The funeral procession began with Jewish soul songs, including: "He who makes peace in his high places, he will make peace for all Israel, and they said Amen."
