Today, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko reiterated the readiness of Belarus and its full readiness to respond to any military aggression or threat across the border.
“We have highly trained, highly qualified and equipped units that can be deployed to any spot on Belarusian soil within a maximum of three hours, and the aim of this meeting in the Defense Ministry is to discuss the use of response methods by Armed Forces against any hostile move against Belarus.
During the meeting, which was attended by the Ministers of Defense and Interior, the Chairman of the Border Committee, the Chairman of the State Security Committee, the heads of security and defense agencies and other law enforcement authorities, he stressed the importance of the Belarusian Armed Forces and other relevant bodies and ministries such as the Ministry of Interior having scenarios for responding to any attack, monitoring and following up on everything that is happening and responding to any Military action or hostile scheme.
Lukashenko instructed Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko to supply the army with everything necessary to repel any aggression and raise its readiness.
Lukashenko had warned in previous statements that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization "NATO" continues to systematically strengthen and increase its offensive military infrastructure facilities along the border with Belarus.
