He was driving his Volvo on the B 307 in the direction of Bayrischzell on Saturday at around 10.20 a.m. when, according to his own account, in the hamlet of Hagnberg near Aurach, he lost control of the car due to inattentiveness on a straight stretch of the road and lost control of the car the police.
The Volvo drove about 30 meters in the adjacent meadow and damaged a chain link fence along this length before the car crashed into a slight slope and tore out a piece of the road surface there.
According to the police, the driver was fortunately able to get himself out of the car and apparently only slightly injured.
He came to the hospital for evaluation.
A good 30,000 euros in damage was caused to the Volvo, plus several thousand euros in the fence and road surface.
