For a year, the office of the Peiting DAV section, which has 3986 members, was renovated and refurbished.

Now the squeaky clean and newly furnished rooms have been blessed by Pastor Brigitte Weggel and Pastoral Advisor Thomas Tralmer.

Peiting

- "We are an association that unites us," said Herwig Skalitza at the inauguration of the office in Bachfeldstrasse. The head of the section quickly listed how the “Working Group on Renovation” had envisaged the office for the next few years. "Things were torn out that my predecessors put a lot of heart and soul into over the past 20 years." The renovation measures during the Corona period were not easy. All trades were done by craft businesses in the area. Among them are the magnificent mountain panorama pictures that adorn the walls of the office and which were all made by Werner Böglmüller, graphic artist from Steingaden.

The administrative office of the section houses the combined administration with the Alpine clubs Peiting (2559 members), Rottenbuch (378), Steingaden (692) and Böbing (360).

Everything that has to do with the DAV main association is done here by Cecilia Rohrmoser.

For example, the training of the trainers, the registration of new members in the local groups and the administration of the “Feldern Alm” section hut.

The community sells basement rooms to the association for a symbolic euro

The renovation work cost around 80,000 euros. Donors contributed ten percent. The rest comes from the section cashier. For the symbolic euro, the municipality of Peiting has overwritten the basement rooms in the section's apartment building that had previously belonged to it. This includes the office, the kitchen and the touring room, the supply room, the material store and the toilet. 150 square meters of floor space are available to the new owner. Most of the rooms have been equipped with new furniture. Peiting's Mayor Peter Ostenrieder was delighted with what the Alpine Club has done with the former basement rooms. “An absolute gem”, with which he made a mark in the town.

Pastor Brigitte Weggel blessed the new cross and the premises, but above all the people who come and go.

Pastoral advisor Thomas Tralmer emphasized that many roads lead to God.

"One of them goes over the mountains to the cross of faith."
