Pfizer CEO Albert Burla said today (Monday) during an interview with the American network CNBC that the pharmaceutical giant has already begun developing another vaccine designed to stop the omicron virus, although there is still not enough information about the variant's immunity.
Burla added that Pfizer had already developed an injection against the beta and delta variant of the corona virus, but was not needed so far due to the effectiveness of the original version of the vaccine.
"I do not think the results of the study will be that the vaccines do not protect. The results may be that the vaccines protect less," Borella stressed.
"We already started the first step of producing the new vaccine on Friday. We have clarified how many times it will be possible to develop it in less than 100 days," the CEO noted.
We will create a vaccine for the omicron that we will use only in case we see that the current vaccine will not work, "he concluded.
