First a chain, then a fence, now “No passage” signs: The Rotarians' popular Wörthsee circular route is partially closed due to inconsiderate walkers.

Schlagenhofen - The Rotarians' circular route around the Wörthsee experienced a real rush during the lockdowns and became a popular walk. However, there is no public toilet anywhere. Strollers therefore looked for alternatives in Schlagenhofen on the campsite - hidden behind caravans. The reaction: First the disgusted campers blocked the way with a chain. When this didn't work, the operators put up a fence.

Marita Seefelder, Green Councilor from Bachern, was surprised at the latest council meeting that the path is blocked. She thought it was publicly dedicated. Innings Mayor Walter Bleimaier knew nothing about it, but Seefelder's party friend Hubert Vögele did. He lives in Schlagenhofen and knows the owners of the trail well. He fully understood the measure.

Even when the circular route opened in 2014, there were a few flaws on the Inninger part of the route. In Schlagenhofen it leads a few hundred meters over the not only narrow, but also busy state road on nice days, which has led to dangerous situations for pedestrians and cyclists in the past. Only last year the residents were allowed a speed limit of 40 kilometers per hour (we reported). In the further course, the hiking trail marked the unpaved path behind the summer house in the direction of the campsite and led the hikers directly over the campsite instead of the official route, the bike path along the road to the entrance to the campsite. From there, the walker arrives again directly on a riverside path.

At the request of the owners, the building yard had already turned the Rotarians notice more clearly in the direction of the bike path. "Unfortunately, that didn't help," says Roman Sieber, whose family owns the campsite. Especially during the lockdowns, the crowds poured over the campsite. Even a chain that the permanent campers had attached was not an obstacle. "Then we said we would put a fence and a sign 'No entry'." For some time now, another sign has been pointing to a no-entry sign. It was attached directly to the metal post of a traffic sign where the path splits into a cycle path and a field path. Even the dirt road is designated as a private path on it.

Bleimaier could not answer whether there will be a public dedication or not.

Sieber remembers that there was an agreement "but not officially".

Under these circumstances and because of the inconsiderate strollers he is glad of it.
