In 2018, women's salaries were still 17% lower than those of men in companies. Then, the professional equality index arrived… This tool, introduced by the professional future law, has forced employers to improve their gender pay policy. Developed on the basis of five criteria, it has the particularity of imposing an obligation of result on companies. Since its implementation three years ago, progress has been made, indicates a study by Dares, the statistical service of the Ministry of Labor. Thus, the average score is increasing from year to year, to currently stand at 85 out of 100. If only 2.5% of companies obtained the maximum score of 100 points, 37% still display a result above 90 points. .It is in the smallest companies (50 to 250 employees) that the average score is lowest (84.5).
