CHRONICLE - France's Arab allies in the Gulf will ask its president to stand firm in the Vienna negotiations with Iran. Emmanuel Macron will hear them but, in exchange, will plead for the fate of Lebanon.


Emmanuel Macron will tour the Persian Gulf on December 3 and 4, 2021. What are the objectives?

Regional security issues are the priority.

The tour will take the French president to the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

The emirate of Abu Dhabi is home to three French military bases, the navy, the air force and the army.

France has defense agreements with the Emirates and Qatar;

it also provides operational support to the Saudi army.

France intends to guarantee its oil supplies and freedom of navigation in the Gulf, thanks to its navy and those of its allies.

The United States of America and France wish to stop in the bud any attempt to grab the Gulf by Iran's armed forces.

As well as any inclination to manufacture the atomic bomb.

This is precisely the subject of the negotiations which resumed on Monday, November 29 in Vienna between the great powers and Iran,
