Moscow-Sana

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov revealed that the United States is spending huge funds in an attempt to destabilize Russia and impede its development path.

TASS quoted Ryabkov as saying during a meeting of the Committee on “Protecting Russia’s Sovereignty and Preventing Interference in its Internal Affairs” of the Russian Federation Council, “The vengeful Americans do not stop trying to impede the development process in our country and influence our domestic and foreign policies through the imposition of sanctions, blackmail and information warfare, using organizations international non-profit among various other instruments.”

Ryabkov explained that "the American side, under the guise of helping to strengthen democratic institutions and civil societies, allocates huge funds to fund plans to provoke protests and separatist sentiments, in particular, under the guise of protecting the environment, fighting corruption and supporting minorities."

He added, "With the passage of time, the American propaganda and misinformation that it spreads against Russia has become more complex," explaining that for the Americans and their allies, everything is permissible in the information war, including the use of social networks.

In addition, Ryabkov warned that "Russia will not allow the United States or others to interfere in its internal affairs or to speak to it in a condescending manner or an authoritarian tone, not to mention sticking its nose into our internal affairs... The response will be firm and harsh on our part."

The Russian official added that Washington adopts the sanctions method to interfere in the affairs of other countries, and it does so with Russia, as well as Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela, and in this context it promotes the world order based on "rules" as an alternative to the international structure centered around the United Nations.

He pointed out that the so-called "Democracy Summit", which is scheduled to be held on the 9th and 10th of next month, aims to form a coalition led by the United States to surround countries with independent policies such as Russia and China, noting that Moscow will continue to work with its partners in joint international groups such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Group of BRICS so that relations between states are based on the Charter of the United Nations.
