Florian Silbereisen once again welcomed many Schlager stars at the ARD “Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights”.

But it suddenly became dangerous for the 40-year-old.

Suhl - On Saturday evening (November 27th) it was that time again: Schlager presenter Florian Silbereisen invited to the annual "Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights" on ARD to get in the mood for the coming Christmas season. Of course, there were again many emotional moments: Schlager legend Ireen Sheer announced her end of career, and Sophia, the six-year-old daughter of Daniela Katzenberger and Lucas Cordalis, delighted the audience as a surprise guest. When comedian Bülent Ceylan also addressed touching words to the presenter (and vice versa), the audience in front of the screens certainly melted away. Nevertheless, an incident occurred between the emotional highs and lows of the show, which caused a stir for a short time - and even became a bit dangerous for Silbereisen.

Florian Silbereisen at the "Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights": Suddenly smoke comes up - the moderator panics

When Schlager singer Ross Antony swept across the stage of the Advent Festival in his usual good mood, who could have thought that his joker existence would almost be doomed a short time later. Before his appearance, Silbereisen announced that Antony had brought the “ultimate gift tips” with him again this year. "And I'm really excited to see what he discovered this year," continued the moderator. He was allowed to be, after all, he later had to serve as a guinea pig. After a short banter about Christmas decorations, minimalism and their hobbies of cooking and baking, Silbereisen and Antony went on to present the not-so-serious gift ideas.

“I look forward to it every year,” said Silbereisen to Antony. Due to the traumatic experience that followed, this anticipation for the future shows may not last. It all started with a mobile sauna, as Antony proudly presented. What looked like a square quilted mini tent with a hood was supposed to enable the recipient to go to the sauna for a short while, for example, while waiting for the bus or in other situations. To illustrate it to the audience, Antony asked Silbereisen to sit on the chair in the mobile sauna. So after the Schlager presenter settled down, Antony, who also goes through as a sales artist at the online shopping channel QVC, closed the sauna tent with a zipper.Only the head and hands of Silbereisen still looked out.

Florian Silbereisen at the “Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights”: Schlager colleague Ross Antony comes to the rescue

“It's comfortable,” said Silbereisen at first and was positively surprised. The first skepticism seemed to have evaporated. Then of course he wanted to get more information from Antony on how the device worked. But suddenly something happened that the audience couldn't see at first. Silbereisen's reputation alone indicated that not everything was going well at that moment. “It's smoking there”, Silbereisen suddenly called out in panic while he was locked in the mobile sauna, “Ross, the smoke is coming out!” Apparently the sauna had already started by itself. “It's getting warm there,” Silbereisen continued. "Open up again!" He asked his guest in a panic. He reacted immediately, opened the zipper and released his Schlager friend. Then the audience could see it too:In fact, Silbereisen was sitting in the middle of a cloud of smoke. "Oh my god, what have I done", Antony shouted, startled, "Florian, come quickly!"

Silbereisen then saved himself immediately from the sauna.

Except for the loss of his microphone, which suddenly detached itself from his suit by jumping up from his chair in a hurry, he was fortunately spared further injuries.

The 40-year-old finally took the incident with humor and his final conclusion was with a laugh: "This is a very nice gift - and it works." (
