The Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Dr. Amr Salem, discussed with the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Reza Fatemi Amin and his accompanying delegation, mechanisms for strengthening trade relations between the two countries and developing and upgrading joint economic cooperation points to serve the interests of the two peoples.
The two sides discussed issues related to determining the required foodstuffs and commodities in the Syrian and Iranian markets
And the possibility of trade exchange in a way that creates a balance between the importer and exporter in both countries, in addition to establishing joint projects and accelerating the implementation of previous agreements and exchanging experiences in the field of ways to increase production for some materials by encouraging the cultivation of new lands and supporting and providing fertilizers and seeds to farmers.
Minister Salem affirmed in a press statement after the meeting held at the Ministry of Internal Trade in Damascus that there is a common desire between the two countries to cooperate in the fields of foodstuffs, agricultural investment, manufacturing and the exchange of goods that suit the Syrian and Iranian markets.
In turn, the Iranian minister pointed out the importance of upgrading trade and economic relations to the level of historical relations between the two countries
The two countries have translated it on the ground to serve the interests of the two peoples, stressing that his country continues to support and support the Syrian people in all circumstances.
The two sides agreed to nominate and approve representatives from both sides to start immediately, set specific points for action and implement them in the interest of both countries.
The meeting was attended by the Iranian ambassador in Damascus, Dr. Mahdi Sobhani, and the general managers of the institutions and companies affiliated with the ministry.
