The police responded that roadblocks were set up in the area to crack down on illegal racing activities, but some residents of Tai Po said that starting from the Pak Shek Kok section, "the stoppage will return at least an hour", causing the crowds of neighbours who have returned night to complain.
Tai Po District Councillor Ou Zhenhao also stated that he was in traffic congestion at the time. He believed that the police's "four lines and one line" was annoying to the public and questioned its effectiveness. He suggested that vehicles should be intercepted at some "driving hot spots" as usual in the future.

When he approached the Science Park at nearly 12 in the evening, he started to see cars and dragons. He said that it took him an hour and a half to arrive at Tai Po. Afterwards, he heard that it took nearly 3 hours for a neighborhood to get on the bus from Central and return to Tai Po Terminus. Some people also said that Longwei had been squeezed to the Sha Tin Racecourse area until 4 a.m. It took time for the queues to completely dissipate.
Qu Zhen Hao pointed out that he understood the police actions, but believed that the actions were too disturbing to the people.
He pointed out that although many illegal racing cars drive through the Tolo Highway, most of them go to Ting Kok Road, Bride's Pool, and Tai Mo Shan on Lam Kam Road. He believes that the police always set up roadblocks at these places. Stopping inspections at highway exits should be more effective.
He continued that he has not received a further response from the police and will continue to follow up and inquire about the effectiveness of the operation at the January District Council meeting.
