The Ministry of Defense and Shikun VeBinui signed an agreement today (Monday) to establish the IDF Intelligence Campus in the Negev. The agreement was signed by the Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Maj.
The ceremony, which took place today, was attended by Defense Minister Bnei Gantz, Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi, Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Minister of Culture and Sports Hili Trooper, Deputy Defense Minister Alon Schuster, Chief of the Armed Forces General Aharon Haliva, heads of southern authorities "Housing and Construction".
According to the agreement, Shikun VeBinui will plan, finance, establish and operate the intelligence complex to be established at Likit Junction.
The campus will house about 12,000 soldiers and officers from collection, intelligence, cyber and technology units, as well as the headquarters units of the intelligence division.

Defense Minister Bnei Gantz welcomed the signing of the agreement and said: "The IDF has been and continues to be a pioneer in the flourishing of the Negev and in strengthening Israeli society.
The agreement we signed is further proof that the IDF is an integral part of the people, building it and being built from it. This is a great challenge and a great opportunity for the state, society and the IDF.
The conditions in the base built here, and the means invested in it in terms of infrastructure - will upgrade the capabilities of the security services. The Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel, who signed the agreement, said:

The Intelligence Kiryat will be built on an area of about 2,500 dunams, of which about 450,000 square meters are built. And its training system, which is currently deployed in areas of demand in Gush Dan and the central base in Glilot.
The establishment of the Intelligence Campus, led by the Director of Transition to the South in the Ministry of Defense and the IDF Intelligence Division, is the main milestone in the national plan to move IDF camps south.
This is also the largest and most complex tender of the five projects to move south: the IDF training camp and the transfer of Baha 27 to Nabataeans were completed several years ago. The digital ICT camp is currently being established in Be'er Sheva. Mishmar Hanegev, and now the Intelligence Campus is also underway.
During the ceremony, an agreement was signed between the Ministry of Defense and the campus company - the Campus for Intelligence, Decryption and Cyber Ltd. - a dedicated company wholly owned by Shikun VeBinui Ltd., on the concession agreement for the establishment of the Intelligence Campus.
The agreement with the franchisee includes financing, planning, construction and operation of the base for a period of 26 years.
