Substantial snowfall down to low altitude in the Massif Central, the Northern Alps and the Pyrenees, avalanches expected in the west of the Pyrenees and flooding in the north of the country… This Monday morning, Météo France placed a total of thirteen departments in orange vigilance, in the continuity of the day of Sunday.
The Nord and Pas-de-Calais are on orange alert for the
risks of floods
.
The firefighters had proceeded Sunday evening to about sixty evacuations of inhabitants in the North, affected by heavy rainfall.

The Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Hautes-Pyrénées, Haute-Garonne, Ariège, Corrèze, Creuse, Puy-de-Dôme, Savoie, Haute-Savoie, Ain, Isère have as for they were placed in orange vigilance for
snow and ice
.
In addition, according to Météo France, "given the very significant accumulations in medium mountains, greater than one meter in the Pyrénées Atlantiques and the Hautes-Pyrénées, the
risk of avalanches
is high (level 4 out of 5)".
These two departments are therefore placed in orange vigilance for this parameter.
Lows may concern high-altitude road sectors in the Aspe-Ossau and Haute Bigorre Massifs in particular.
In the Northern Alps, snowfall persists at very low altitude, making traffic difficult as well.
The snow should ease significantly during the afternoon.
