2021-11-30T15:15:22.198Z

The prize for the longest race for an Uber in 10 years goes to a Marseille driver who agreed to travel, at the end of May 2020,

Moez, 42, learned with astonishment a few days ago from the company Uber France that he was the VTC driver who had completed the longest race in 10 years.

This Marseillais swallowed 1,129 kilometers to reach Plumieux, a town of 1,000 inhabitants in the Côtes-d'Armor.

It was the evening of May 29, 2020.

“We were coming out of two months of confinement during which we had not been able to work,” he recalls.

I was at Saint-Charles station with a colleague drinking coffee when my application started ringing.

The postal code 22000 is then displayed and Moez clicks almost automatically to accept.

“I looked on the Internet and discovered that it was in Brittany!

I thought the customer was wrong as sometimes happens.

"

A cost of 1607 euros

Except no. The client, a young man, then picks up his phone to contact Moez. He explains to her that he is having a hard time at the station, that there is no train to go to Plumieux while his father is in critical condition in the hospital. Several other drivers have already refused to take the race. Moez was convinced by the mother of the client who also called him. “She hurt me so I took my courage in both hands without thinking too much and we left straight away,” he adds.

Cost for the customer: 1,607 euros and 91 cents.

They arrived at 9 a.m. after an 11-hour drive, including breaks.

“We talked, we laughed and listened to music.

»And to think that it was the first time that Moez came to Brittany!

“I was advised to visit Saint-Malo but I was too tired.

I took a hotel room in Rennes to rest and I left ”, explains the Marseille driver for whom it remains a great experience.
