The struggle between the league administration and the basketball association is intensifying: a few days after the letter sent by the administration announcing that it is setting up a team that will work for the establishment of a separate league that will not operate under the association, a particularly harsh response arrives.
In a letter sent by the union's general manager, Yaakov Ben-Shoshan, to the director general of the administration, Shlomi Perry, which reached Israel Today, harsh words were written: "The union outright rejects what is said in your letter Acts not in the eyes of the good of the industry as a whole. "
"Your letter constitutes a fundamental breach of the 2002 agreement as to what this implies," it read, implying that the union intends to go all out to end the agreement between the parties and return the Premier League to its management.
The letter clarifies, among other things, that the association is the only authority under the law and all basketball activities in Israel should be regulated through it.
Ben-Shoshan also refers to the administration's statement that the union's representatives' announcement that they will refrain from providing services to the administration constitutes a criminal offense and a civil tort:
At the end of the letter, the union announces that it rejects the administration's letter outright and already during the week it will announce who the team members will be who will work for the return of the league management to the union.
"You are required to cooperate fully. If you do not do so, the union reserves its full rights to act against you by the means at its disposal."
The league administration responded: "Since the union has decided to dissolve the administration, in ten days there will be a board meeting where we will discuss the establishment of an independent league and a founding team. Only the teams will decide who will manage them."
