Today, the Forestry Police and Forestry Division in Salamiyah area in the eastern Hama countryside organized 3 forestry arrests against people for committing the violation of cutting trees in the Al-Burkan forest for the purpose of illegally selling its logs.
The head of the Forestry Department in Salamiyah, the agricultural engineer Issa Miqdad, told SANA reporter that after follow-up and monitoring, large quantities of felled forest trees were seized, confiscated and duly handed over to the Hama Forestry Department, and the violators were referred to the competent judiciary so that legal measures could be taken against them.
He pointed out that intensive patrols are constantly being conducted on forest sites to limit the encroachments that affect them, noting that the area is estimated in a peaceful area of more than 4000 hectares, in which conifers, cypress, eucalyptus, acacia, tamarisk, belly and others are spread.
