A girl hospitalized at the Ma'ale HaCarmel Psychiatric Hospital puts an end to her life Israel today

The Mental Carmel Mental Health Center updated tonight (Tuesday) about a serious incident that occurred at the hospital, during which a hospitalized girl took her own life.

The case was reported to the police and the Ministry of Health.

In a statement issued on behalf of Ma'ale Carmel, where the late Little Yael Melnik was also hospitalized, it was stated that "the hospital management, staff and the department are very hurt by the shaky incident and are participating in the family's pain."

The hospital director also said that in addition to the police investigation, he will work with the Ministry of Health tomorrow to ensure that the incident is thoroughly and professionally investigated by an external party, with knowledge and experience, in order to reach full conclusions and lessons.

Earlier today, the Haifa District Court extended the detention of Edward Kachura, the suspect in the murder of Little Yael Melnik, by three days.

This, after yesterday reversing the decision of the Magistrate's Court in the city, and announced that Kachura will remain in custody until tonight.
