A 63-year-old woman was evacuated today (Tuesday) in critical condition to Carmel Hospital after she suffocated while eating a donut in Haifa.
MDA paramedic Shmuel Dror said: "When we reached the street we saw the woman lying unconscious, with no pulse and no breathing.
We immediately began performing advanced resuscitation operations that included resuscitation, massage and medication.
During the medical treatment, we extracted pieces of dough from her throat with the help of special medical equipment.
We put her in an intensive care unit and evacuated her for further medical treatment at the hospital while continuing to perform resuscitation operations. "
Magen David Adom mentions that donut dough can be dangerous for babies, children, the elderly and people with swallowing problems.
The donut should be cut into small pieces, and taken care of while eating.
This is a similar event that takes place within two days.
Yesterday, a 63-year-old man from Yavneh was taken to hospital in a critical condition, anesthetized and respirated, after suffocating from eating a donut.
Later his condition improved and is now defined as mild.
