For the 21st time, the rabble of lights invites you to their Christmas house in Pöcking, due to the corona, however, without serving mulled wine and other spectacles.

Pöcking - It's light again at Beccostraße 11 in Pöcking, really light. After a year of Corona break, the Christmas house of the group of “rabble of lights” lights up again - every day from 6 p.m. since the first Advent. The light artists Nikolas Heinecke, Christian Zingraff and Jan Fellner haven't counted the individual lamps for a long time, but they estimate them to be around 80,000 pieces. This year there is a new attraction, but you have to discover it yourself.

It is the 21st edition of the production with fir trees, flying stars, colorful gifts and reindeer on the roof. It was canceled in Advent 2020. "At that time, everything was generally unsafe because of Corona," says Heinecke. Even in the now approaching Christmas season, rabble of lights waived events - no music shows, no mulled wine, no reindeer party at the opening. “It's like the Christmas market: We couldn't control the Corona requirements. But we want to bring people a bit of light into the darkness, ”says Heinecke, who lives in the house of lights himself. It is heartwarming to watch children in front of the house: when it lights up, their eyes light up too. And there is already a lot of gloomy and sadness in these times, emphasizes Heinecke.

Every day from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. it will be light on Beccostraße until Epiphany in January.

The system is completely computer controlled.

One is no longer enough, two computers form the basis in the basement of the house.

Does everything work?

“Unfortunately not yet,” says Heinecke.

There is a problem with the angel flying on a rope.

A mast broke on Wednesday.

“It won't be punctual anymore.

But we are confident that the angel will fly by Christmas Eve. "

The project can also be viewed critically, given the light pollution and energy consumption.

However, Heinecke and Co. are gradually switching to LED lighting.

"And mostly the system only runs with a brightness of 50 percent."
