Homs-Sana
Homs firefighting teams managed this evening to put out the fire that broke out in the lands of the town of Hob Namira in the western Homs countryside on the administrative border with Tartous Governorate.
The Director of Civil Defense in Homs, Brigadier General Ghiath Aqel, said in a statement to SANA reporter that after great efforts the firefighting cadres in the Civil Defense and the Directorate of Agriculture were able to control the fire and put it out completely, despite the speed of the wind and the difficult terrain that impeded the arrival of firefighting vehicles to the place.
Brigadier Aqel indicated that the area that was exposed to the fire was planted with olive trees, in addition to forest trees.
