The two public companies for sewage, roads and bridges in Aleppo are implementing a project to replace and construct sewage lines in the Jabriya neighborhood of the city, at a cost of 92 million pounds, with the aim of renewing the network and eliminating problems and difficulties in drainage and water leakage into residential buildings and basements.
Engineer Muhammad Bahaa Haj Hussein, director of the General Company for Sanitation in Aleppo, told SANA reporter that the company is working on implementing projects to replace sewage networks in popular neighborhoods in order to preserve the structural structure of the buildings and to overcome the difficulties of draining water and its leakage into residential basements, and thus the threat of their collapse.
He explained that the project aims to replace about 400 meters of sewage networks in the main and secondary streets of the neighborhood with different diameters of polyethylene pipes.
In turn, the engineer, Reem Shehadeh, director of the General Company for Roads and Bridges, Aleppo branch, indicated that the work includes replacing the old and worn-out concrete channels with new pipes that are resistant to damage and leakage during a contractual implementation period of 21 days. The project fully serves high-density residential areas.
SANA’s camera monitored the opinions of a number of residents of the neighborhood who suffered from sewage problems and water leakage into their homes. Muhammad Manar Aqili said, “The area was suffering from sewage blockages, which resulted in many problems. By implementing the network replacement project, the problem will be solved.”
Muhammad Naasan, the owner of a library in the neighborhood, noted the speed of implementation and the removal of rubble, and the role of this by restoring the main and secondary streets, while the citizen Qusay Kasir thanked the implementing agencies that responded to citizens' complaints and worked to speed up the implementation and implementation in a short time.
