From a distance, it looks like a large garden shed.
But when you look at it more closely, the Lodj, designed by the Thévenin company in Saint-Cyr-en-Val, in the agglomeration of Orléans (Loiret), is much more than a banal hut.
It is a real living room, an "extra room", insulated and connected to the water and electricity networks, which can be placed in your garden to meet various uses, office, workshop, etc. guest room, gym or student accommodation ...
The idea germinated during confinement in the minds of the leaders of this company of 460 people, created in 1974 and specializing in the renovation of individual houses.
“With telecommuting, people spend more time at home.
We have reflected on these subjects by seeking how to differentiate ourselves from the competition, ”explains Nicolas Soucier, Managing Director.

The Lodj, whose elements are made in France, is composed of a wooden frame structure, the cladding is also made of wood, as is its terrace.
With a surface area of 20 m2, it is stowed on piles driven into the ground, without cement screed, and can be assembled in three weeks maximum.
Isolated like a real house, it is sold assembled turnkey, decoration included, from 55,000 euros.
The company, which is offering for the first time a product that it has imagined and designed itself, will launch its Lodj on the market in January.
She hopes to market around thirty a month.
And if the "extra piece" finds its audience, the company imagines to decline it in other versions, to stick to new lifestyles.
