Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh announced that the Iranian delegation to the Vienna negotiations will focus on lifting the US sanctions imposed on Iran and ways to achieve this, stressing that it will not undertake any more commitment than what was stated in the nuclear agreement signed in 2015.
Khatibzadeh said in a statement to the Iranian news agency IRNA today, "What is happening in Vienna is the focus on lifting sanctions, and we do not accept anything less than this and we do not pledge any commitment more than what was stated in the nuclear agreement," adding that "step-by-step negotiations and putting forward new commitments to Iran have no place." them in our negotiations.
Khatibzadeh affirmed that Iran is participating in the Vienna talks with a serious will and full readiness to move forward with all positives, but provided that the sanctions imposed on it are abolished.
Earlier today, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian reiterated that his country had entered into the Vienna talks with the Four Plus One Group seriously and in good faith, and was seeking to reach a good agreement.
Yesterday, in the Austrian capital, Vienna, discussions of the joint committee resumed on the Iranian nuclear deal between Iran and the major powers, with a focus on canceling the US embargo imposed on Iran.
