The suspect who fled after a gunshot caused panic inside Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport more than a week ago turned himself in to police, according to a press release from the Atlanta Police Department (APD). , for its acronym in English).

Kenny Wells, 42, "turned himself in to the Clayton County Jail," the APD news release said.

"Wells faces charges of carrying a gun or long gun at a commercial service airport, reckless conduct, unloading firearms on someone else's property and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon," according to the APD.

It is unclear if Wells has retained an attorney.
