Police officers and ushers who operated at Doha Stadium during Bnei Sakhnin's game tonight (Tuesday) against Betar Jerusalem seized dozens of flares fired throughout the stadium. In addition, seven people who rioted and disturbed public order were arrested.
As part of the police's preparations for the game, the Northern District police, together with the ushers who work at the place, conducted searches in the stadium complex in order to ensure the safety of the crowd and the players.
During the scans, dozens of flares were removed in various places, some of which were even removed inside the decks of sinks.
The flares were seized and as stated seven people were arrested after rioting, disrupting public order and not complying with police instructions.
One of them in addition also tried to enter the game without a ticket.
The police said: "The Israel Police calls on the fans to show a sporting spirit and at the end of the game, regardless of the results, to treat the fans of each team with respect."
