The most expensive in the world: The
city of Tel Aviv has found itself in the first and dubious place in the list of the most expensive cities in the world, while ousting from the summit Paris, which is now ranked second and third together with Singapore.
This is according to a report published tonight (Wednesday) by The Economist newspaper.
According to the report, which examined the cost of living in 173 different cities around the globe, and compared the cost of more than 200 products and services, in Tel Aviv there was a sharp increase in the cost of living.
The report, prepared by the Economist Group's research company, has been published for more than three decades in March and September. It should be noted that the index compares prices in cities with New York City prices.
In fourth and fifth places are Zurich and Hong Kong respectively after being ranked first last year along with Paris.
New York, Geneva, Copenhagen, Los Angeles and Osaka close the top ten.
It should be emphasized that the list sometimes ranks different cities in the same place in a state of equality in the price index.
Thus, for example, Paris and Singapore are ranked second and so on.
