Syria is participating in the 24th session of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization in the Spanish capital, Madrid, which begins today and continues until the 3rd of this December.
In a press statement to European media on the sidelines of his attendance at the session, Minister of Tourism, Eng. Muhammad Rami Radwan Martini, pointed to the return to life of many historical places and archaeological markets frequented by Europeans, and the continuation of work to restore them as part of the recovery of the tourism sector in Syria.
The Minister of Tourism indicated that with the return of security and stability to Syria, work continues to restore and rehabilitate tourist facilities to put them in service, in addition to opening new ones, indicating that the ministry is also working on educating and training the young generation to graduate qualified cadres to work in the tourism market.
The session’s agenda includes meetings of the “Tourism and Sustainability”, “Tourism and Competitiveness” and “Tourism and Online Education” committees.
