The number of suspects infected with the Omicron variant has skyrocketed to 34
To date, only two cases of the new South African strain have been confirmed.
Earlier today, the head of the public health service, Dr. Elrai Price, revealed in a Knesset debate that thanks to GSS IDPs, a total of 230 citizens were discovered who came into contact with the two Omikron vertebrates or those suspected of being infected with the strain.

The number of suspects infected with the South African variant Omicron rose today (Tuesday) to 34.
Currently, only two cases in Israel have been verified as certain cases.
The update follows a discussion in the Knesset Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense on GSS identities as a way to stop the South African variant. The head of the Public Health Services, Dr. Sharon Elrai Price, revealed that "With those who are suspected of being infected with the strain.
" We have transferred 13 contacts to the GSS so far, for the 13 contacts 186 contacts were received in the epidemiological investigation that are investigated and isolated and the entire routine process is done towards contacts of a verified patient, "Elrai Price told the committee.
"At the same time, what we have just received from the GSS is 44 contacts, of which only 2 coincided with the 186 we knew about before.
I mean it's a complementary tool.
We want to see that these were not exceptional days. "
