The court ordered the release of Eddie Kachura, the suspect in the murder of Yael Melnik (edited by Aviad Ballali)
Ruth Melnik, Yael Melnik's sister, said this morning (Tuesday) in an interview with 103FM that if the court does not sentence Eddie Katzura, who is suspected of murdering Yael, to life imprisonment, her family will not accept it. "I hope he sits in jail all his life, if not, I will not accept it. Police say there is actual evidence that he murdered her. We are crushed but our little war is that her killer will sit in jail all his life. We need to be strong for my sister."
After last night's Magistrate's Court in Haifa released Katzura, before the district accepted the police appeal and delayed his release by 24 hours, Melnik claimed that his release was due to a purely technical interest, due to the need to extend his detention while the investigation is ongoing. "They did not see how the investigation would end at this time so in my opinion that is why they decided to release him."
Melnik claims that "there is real evidence that he murdered my sister. Also yesterday the judge, the district president who accepted the appeal, said things we had never heard in any hearing. "In a psychiatric hospital, she was there to exploit girls in such a situation, in a bad situation."

According to her, there is additional evidence of Katzura's behavior from girls who were hospitalized at the Ma'ale Carmel Psychiatric Hospital in Tirat Carmel, where he worked.
"Every day I hear something new from girls who were hospitalized and treated by him. I heard he sexually harassed them in places without cameras, beat his patients. I heard he was violent, manipulative, aggressive, he would come to work under the influence of drugs and alcohol. I heard many things I was just in the market every time. re".
On her mental state, Melnik said: "I break down a lot, it's hard to go through all this, I'm also an 18 year old girl in total and I lost my little sister, the only one. Obviously I break down, I cry a lot. I don't have time to digest everything I go through That it is so intense. "
