The Spanish Ministry of Health announced the registration of 4 cases of the new Corona mutant, Omicron, among people coming from African countries.
Because of fears of the rapid spread of this mutation, the Spanish Council of Ministers agreed to impose travel restrictions and measures, similar to what many governments have done to close their borders, as these measures will be applied for a period of two weeks, starting from tomorrow until the 15th of this month.
The Council indicated that travelers coming to Spain from high-risk countries, including South Africa, will be forced to obtain a negative result of the Corona examination before entering the Spanish national territory for a period not exceeding 72 hours, regardless of whether they have been vaccinated with full doses. These travelers will also be placed They are quarantined for 10 days upon entering Spanish territory.
In addition, data from the Ministry of Health reported that 10,261 new infections and 44 deaths from the Corona virus were recorded in Spain during the past 24 hours, bringing the total recorded infections to 5,164,184 cases and deaths 88,052 cases.
