The Al-Fida gin in Hama has received 1,752 tons of the beloved cotton from the farmers of Deir Ezzor and Raqqa governorates since the start of the receiving operations on October 12 to date.
The director of the gin, Osama Kayal, said in a statement to SANA Economic Bulletin that the gin received 1,597 tons of cotton from Deir Ezzor and 155 tons from Raqqa, indicating that the gin was allocated to receive the beloved cottons that produce agricultural seeds, where they will be ginned later and supplying the cotton seeds to the Seed Multiplication Corporation.
He said that the cotton that was received is of good quality with specifications suitable for the ginning operations, which are expected to start after the middle of this month, noting that the requirements for the production process have been secured, after securing electricity and completing the rehabilitation and maintenance of existing ginning machines, while work will be done on one shift due to a shortage of workers.
It is noteworthy that the Al-Fida gin was closed during the last season due to the lack of large quantities of cotton.
